Memorial Day Fun
We enjoyed a nice relaxing Memorial Day together yesterday. We went to the Eagle Field of Honor to see all of the flags on display, then played at a enw park we discovered there that had a fun water spot to cool us off from the heat! The weather was beautiful so we set up the slip in slide afterwards at home and played for a bit int he sun. That night we went to Aunt Beth's for a fun BBQ with cousins. Thanks for the yummy grub Beth and Nick!
To all who came before us, to all who passed away- we love you and we miss you, on this Memorial Day.....
Field of Honor...
As I was driving last week I noticed a sign saying "Eagle Field of Honor" and as I drove further I saw a field full of American Flags, similar to the one they put up in July in Idaho Falls honoring all the military who have served or are serving our country. The City of Eagle (right next to Boise) has been doing this too for a few years now I guess. so for Memorial Day I thought we would take the kids over to see this great display and talk a little about the meaning behind it. It is so neat to see over 600 flags displayed all at once! While there we decided to sponsor a flag as well and got one in my Dad's name in honor of his many years of service in the military. I am very thankful for my Dad's support of this country and feel blessed he was able to serve safely and not have to travel too far or for too long during his work in Desert Storm. We got to put his name on a yellow ribon and attach it for lal to see and then we get to take the flag home at the end of the week. How cool- love you Dad!

Fun Golf Day
We had a wonderful weekend getting to visit with our old friends and neighbors from Hailey- Bruce and Eileen West! They lived above us in our condo in Hailey during our short stay but we became very good friends. Macee- our little socialite (sp??) was only 2 but quickly introduced our family to our neighbors upstairs:) They were like our parents away from home-and were so good to us and so fun to visit and hang out with. They loved MAcee and Gizmo too! Whenever they would get back from their monthly trip to Costco in Twin Falls Macee would go upstairs for some strawberries and "adatados" (avacados). Anyway, we have managed to keep in touch with all of our moves and they happened to be in Boise this weekend so we got to go golfing with them. It was a perfect warm and beautiful day on the prettiest course. I actually golfed rather well for only my second time out this year and had a blast. The scenery was awesome and we saw many critters along the way including turtles, bullfrogs, a snake, and rock chucks! Macee joined us as well and also hit the ball great! We had a great lunch afterwards and visited for a bit before they headed back. Thanks for a fun visit Bruce and Eileen- we miss you guys!

Toothless Wonder
Well I recovered from the haircut crisis- and now the loss of the first tooth! Is Macee really old enough to be losing teeth?!? Bteer yet, before I could even blog about the first tooth, she lost a second one the next day! Might I add it was more traumatic and bothersome for me than it was for her! Loose teeth and pulling teeth are like nails on a chalkboard for me- I can't stand it! I can't look at them or touch them- it grosses me out. For those of you who knew me when I was younger, I would always go next door to my neighbors house whenever I had a loose tooth and she would assist in the pulling! Well, Ben helped get the first one out, but last night she got the other one to the point where it was jsut hanging there-yuck! She just couldn't get it though and got really upset. Ben was still at work and I had to toughen up and attempt to pull it out-boy was it hard for me, I'm such a wussy mom!! Chris Olson where were you when I needed you! For about an hour it was Macee pulling, me pulling, Macee using pliers, me using pliers, and yes even JADYN assisted in trying to help poor Macee get that darn tooth out! Finally I just cringed and screamed and yanked with the pliers one last time. Holy cow- I am never on teeth pulling duty again! YUCK! I cringe just typing about it- man I'm a wuss! Anyway- yet again another motherly milestone for me watching things I rememebr happening to me happen to my own child-WEIRD! Congrats Macee- but next time wait till your DAD gets home to pull your teeth:)
Summer Fun Has Begun!
Yes, even though it's a warm 70 degrees my children think it is time to bring out the slip'n'slide. It lasted about ten minutes before they were freezing:) Jadyn insisted on wearing her Elmo watersocks as well in case she stepped on any rocks while sliding:) Man kids are funny! Hope this sunshiny weather sticks around!

Happy Mother's Day.....
I decided instead of hearing from my kids why they are glad I am their mom, I would tell them a few reasons why I love being a mom!
1. I love the feeling of a little one who really needs and relies on me-it feels good to be needed and loved all the time:)
2. Endless kisses and hugs!
3. Getting to dress my cute girls up like playing dolls- hee hee I love to make them match!
4. Hearing the funny things innocent little kids say- kids say the darndest things!
5. Watching my kids do things I did when I was little- although I admit it is a bit weird at times remembering myself doing those things.
6. Being so proud of seeing my child succeed and do well in things!
7. Bragging about them:)
8. Cuddling and holding them tight
9. Hearing them say "I love you"
10. Seeing them SMILE :)
11. Watching them mimick people- EX: Playing daycare, making me be the "Auntie" and they are my mom, and my personal favorite playing a server at a restaraunt( Jakers, Red Robin-all the restaraunt experience directly from mom:)
12. Watching them sleep and snore ever so lightly :)zzzzz
13. Watching the excitement of them experiencing something new like a new toy or ride.
14. Getting a great big hug and smile EVERY MORNING! What a way to start a day:)
14. Having my kids pick out my outfit to wear.
15. Knowing finally what it was like for my mom when she would pick out clothes I did not like- yes, mother it is frustrating when you bring home a new outfit for your daughter and she doesn't like it one bit- except my daughter is only 5!! I seem to remember my mom giving up on picking out clothes for me when I was in Jr high!!!
I could go on and on, but these are just a few of my favorite things about being a mom to two wonderful cutie pies! It's so to think my first born is almost 6 now, and it is weird that I am constantly having to learn how to do things that moms do- it never stops- Macee is starting Kindergarten and I have no idea what to do about all this school stuff now! Anyway, I wanted my kids to know- even though they can't read this that I am greatful to be their mom and even though I am not always the best mom and make mistakes and am "such a mean mom"- I will always love my kiddos! Happy Mother's Day to me, my mom and mom-in-law, and all my favorite mommies out there! Cheers to the hardest and most rewarding, fulfilling, and best job ever- Being a MOM!

Jadyn Got A Hair Cut....
From a little girl named Sammy!!! Ahhhh! I thought I was never going to have to deal with a scissor cutting experience with hair, I have made it this far, but the day came. When I picked Jadyn up from the babysitter on Thursday, she had quite the new "do" from her little friend Sammy! The babysitter was right there in the room with them, holding a child who had fallen asleep in her arms and as she watched the kids play, she noticed just Jadyn and Sammy's feet sticking out from the armoire computer desk. They had enclosed themselves into the doors, so she asked what they were doing. Sammy poked her head out and smiled, then stuck her arm out displaying the scissors. The babysitter jumped up and opened the armoire doors wider and Jadyn looked up and smiled and said "Look, Jen, sammy giving me a hair cut!" It was too late, but hair was luckily still left as well:( she got a big chunk out of her bangs right in front:(, a huge chunk in the back clear to her head, and also did some lovely chunky layering on the left side:) I will admit I was a bit upset at first, but had to think, it could have happened in my own home and at least she still had her ears attached right! Sammy's parents felt horrible and keep apologizing and offering to pay for a hair cut. My neighbor across the street who I just met a few weeks ago mentioned she was a hair stylist in a salon so I think I am going to get her expert opinion on if it is fixible in any way or if I should just let it grow back:) Find out what hapens next on Jadyns Extreme Home Hair Makeover! Jadyn's Hair Makeover!
Thanks to our lovely neighbor, Stephanie- AKA Hair Extrodinaire- Jadyn was an excellent client and sat so perfectly still to allow her to try and make amends with the missing patches of hair! It turned out having to go a bit shorter than we thought, but I think she did a great job of blending the back in to the giant hole of hair missing don't you! It really looks cute, for a sort of mature pixie cut on a two year old, but I actually think it may help Jadyns hair a bit for those of you who know how Jadyn's hair looks when she wakes up in the morning! She couldn't do much to cover up the chunk of bangs missing in the fornt, so she just added in a few layers in front as well. Macee think she looks like a boy, Ben now has the son he always wanted you may say, and as for Jadyn...she has no idea what just happened:) Thanks Stephanie so much for being so helpful in a hair cutting crisis and only accepting a plate of homemade cookies for payment! It is great to have good neighbors!
