Kid Talk...

I had an interesting conversation with Macee last night about marriage, and boyfriends, and ex-boyfriends, and break-ups. Quite the conversation with a 6 year old right? She wanted to know who broke up with who and why, and how many ex-boyfriends I had etc.! I don't know how that girl is going to turn out with her keen little mature mind- she doesn't miss a thing- especially grown up things! Towards the end of our conversation I said something to the fact of how I won't let her have a boyfriend and get married- to that she excalimed "What! I am not going to be single forever mom!" WOW!

Ben and I were talking about some friends of ours who we just found out were expecting another baby. He said he was suprised because his friend hadn't mentioned they had a 'bun in the oven'. Jadyn had been sitting next to me the whole time and after a minute she quietly asked me- "Mom, are babies born in hospitals?" I answered yes they are and she looked at me funny and replied, "then why is their baby being born in the oven?"

Oh how I love little comments like these from cute kids.....:)

Taylor with the girls- he is such a GREAT cousin and brother who is so good with the younger kids. He has helped take care of kids for most his life and has never complained and done it with a smile. Taylor is an exceptional student getting a 4.o and enrolled in honors classes- way to go Tay! He is always so friendly and helpful to all- especially helping out his parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. What more can I say- Taylor is an all around awesome guy who we wish the best to in the future!!

Once agin I had the privelage of meeting up with these fine ladies (Lise(former teacher and cheer coach), Celby, me, Samantha, Lindsey, and Jamie (also former teacher)...only this time we did things different. Sorry Smitty's- we opted for a brunch at Celby's parent's house instead which turned out to be a fabulous idea! We had room to sit and chat while the kiddos ran rampid through the halls- then enjoyed a delicious meal cooked by the wonderful and talented Becky:) Thanks ladies for a great visit- so good to see al of you and your cute kids! It's not quite the Yellow Rose of Texas like in the song...but it's a PINK rose almost the SIZE fo TEXAS!!! I have never seen a rose blossom this big! Yes, homegrown in my backyard this thing has gotten bigger and bigger everyday. I finally had to clip it because the other rose buds didn't have room to bloom:) Yowsers my mom was proud...and a bit jealous because hers havn't even started to bloom yet:) Guess you better move to Boise mom!!

Bella, Bella, Bella Dancerella.......

Macee had her first dance recital this weekend, and I was so proud. Once again one of those weird "I'm a mom experiencing things with my own child that I remember happening to me" moments! Crazy, but definitely fun and emotional cheering for her out in the crowd. I was really nervous for her, she was acting a little funny during the day and telling me she was nervous. I thought she might freeze up on stage, but she delivered really well. In fact her group of girls were one of the best ones to perform:) Aunt Chelsea gave her a makeover at the Body Shoppe in the mall...Dad had a bit of a hard time seeing her with make up on but boy did she look pretty! On the way to the recital though Macee forgot she had eye make up on and rubbed her eye- yep black smudges everywhere! Totally looked like she had a black eye and I didn't know what to do because I didn't bring any make up stuff with me. We got most of it off with a baby wipe and then Aunt Chelsea showed up and took over and got her all fixed up:) P.S. We almost were late because of a freak rain and snow storm in MAY!!! What the heck!!! Sick of the rain stormy weather! So after a few close calls we were able to enjoy the "Garden Party" show!
Macee and Lylli, her best bud from school
"Walkin on Sunshine" Whooooaaaaa! I loved this number cause I love the song!

The only thing we need to work on is SMILING....:)

Grandpa's 90th Bday Bash!

We had a great get together with many friends and family to celebrate mt Grandpa's 90th birthday this year! It was so much fun to hang out with all our cousins and especially fun seeing OUR kids play with my cousin's kids! It was kind of weird seeing them play together and reminisce of times when I played with my cousins when I was younger....I'm growing up too fast! We enjoyed a nice open house where Grandpa had a lot of visitors from St George to Rupert! There was a lovely display of him growing up with lots of pictures to look at too:) There was also an awesome geneology chart of his family tree- if I remember right there are about 36 grandkids, 88 great grands, and even a few great great's!! It was a great time filled with food, love, and fun! Happy Birthday Grandpa!
The toothless wonders posing with Aunt Chelsea...Clara and Macee love getting to see each other and play!
